Paintings born at night.

“Many of my works are born in the stillness of the night or in the small hours.”

My artist name is Jayone. I'm from Ermua, in the Basque Country, where I grew up surrounded by mountains, the sea and the industrial life that defines my homeland. Though distance has taken me away from the place I miss so much, its essence lives on in every brushstroke.

My painting grows out of that bond with the Basque landscape, its colours and its strength, and also out of the personal trials life has put in my way. When the silence of the night arrives, ideas flow and take shape in pieces full of mystery and feeling.

I mix traditional and experimental techniques: acrylic, inks, pigments and materials nobody would expect to paint with. If any of these works resonates with you, it would be a pleasure for it to become part of your home.
